Texas Collaborative Law

Collaborative law is at its core a series of structured settlement conferences between the parties and their respective attorneys. It is a conference driven model that strives to resolve differences in a collaborative manner. Collaborative law is an alternative to litigation. Litigation usually seeks lay blame and fault with the other party thereby requesting the Court to render a punitive solution. Litigation can substantially increase the acrimony and discord of the parties. Generally children are going to suffer the most using a litigation model. In Collaborative law the parties and their attorneys agree in writing to try a good faith attempt to reach an agreement and minimize conflict.
