Mediation is formal conference between two divorcing parties
with a neutral third party whose role is to listen to the
parties and help the parties decide their divorce terms.
However the mediator does not render a ruling nor make
decisions, they just facilitate settlements. Nothing happens
or transpires without the parties approval, thus Mediation
keeps the parties in control. Often times a mediator explains
to the parties what the alternative is to settling and going
to Court. Once the divorce is with the Court the parties lose
much of the control over divorce, because now someone else
commands the direction the case will take and the decision is
made for them, not with them.
